Stockport Council and the Council for Disabled Children are holding an information day on Friday 16 January, for parents and carers of children and young people with special educational needs and/or disability. Professionals and volunteers working in this field are also welcome to attend.
The day will provide an overview of the Education, Health and Care Plan assessment process which was introduced last year as part of the national Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Reforms. There will also be a session helping people understand about participation in decision making as a right for disabled children/young people.
The event takes place at Heald Green Village Hall, Outwood Road, Heald Green SK8 3JL from 9.30am to 2.30pm.
Although the day is free of charge, booking is essential as places are limited – to book email bshub.sh2@stockport.gov.uk or phone 0161 474 4430. If you would like to attend just one of the sessions please let us know which one – everyone is welcome to attend both sessions.
