Former Stockport’s Paragon print company owners, Nadene & Alan Marshall, have swapped the printing press for a rather more pressing cycle ride to raise funds for ‘Children with Cancer UK’.
The Marshall’s are about to undertake the ‘holy’ cycle challenge of their lives, from Manchester Cathedral to the iconic Vatican, Rome; Alan sets off from Manchester Cathedral on 1st May 2016 to cycle the 2,000 miles and wife Nadene will be joining him on route in Bordeaux, France.
Nadene will be relaying blogs and images along the journey of their fund raising experience.
Sharon Taylor, who took over Paragon with husband Mike in January said: “Here at Paragon Print and Marketing Nadene’s support within our business during our launch in January 2016 has been exceptional.
“Her commitment to helping us succeed has been greatly appreciated and all of us here at Paragon wish both Alan and Nadene lots of luck”.
Alan said: “I am doing this unaided, with no support of any kind, except of course from my wife Nadene who will ride from Bordeaux to Rome with me which in its self is no mean feat, she will cover around 1,000 miles.
“I will be funding myself so all of the money raised will go to the Children with Cancer UK charity. It may all end in tears at the side of the road, but it is something we must try.
“Brain tumors kill more children than any other form of cancer. Some childhood brain tumors are untreatable and leave few, if any, survivors. Despite the devastation caused by childhood brain tumors, research is seriously underfunded.
