Maryam Saboohi, founder and owner of Himalayas Tea, employs three members of staff and sells more than 150 global teas and tea brewing tools from their new home – a 1500 sq ft unit in Mersey Square – after taking a 10-year lease.
Maryam, who started the business online in 2007 and opened her previous premises on Middle Hillgate, Stockport, in 2012, also offers tea tasting, afternoon tea and tea cocktails and caters for events including corporate groups and hen parties.
In a further sign of letting activity at Merseyway, Waterstones, Topshop and Thomas Cook have all renewed their leases. Waterstones has agreed a new five year lease and will have been trading at Merseyway for more than 20 years.
Jacqueline O’Shea, national director, property management at property agents GVA and managing agent of Merseyway, said:
“The arrival of Maryam and Himalayas Tea Company and the renewal of leases by three high street giants is further evidence of the diverse retail offering at Merseyway as we strive to cater for all possible needs of our visitors from Stockport and south Manchester.”
