There are a huge number of benefits to us if we practice good health. By eating well and cutting down on pre-prepared and processed food and exercising on a regular basis we are more likely to maintain good health. But there are also big benefits to business and the UK economy in general.
We are all living longer and, if we can stay healthy for longer too, there is less strain on services such as the NHS. If we stay healthy, there is also less strain on our businesses and reduced stress for our employers and employees.
To help us achieve better lifestyles, Stockport Council, along with Stockport Homes and 13 other agencies across the borough have teamed up to hold a Wellbeing Week.
The events will be held from 5th to 10th October and will offer a wide range of free activities for Stockport residents to take part in.
Each day is themed around the ‘Five Ways to Wellbeing’, (Keep Learning, Connect, Give, Be Active & Take Notice) which are activities people can build into their everyday lives and things that have been shown to help people feel good.
