Solutions SK’s award-winning School Meals Team have been working with a food supplier to raise more than £550 for Wallace and Gromit’s Children’s Charity.
The team worked with Pasta King on a charity initiative in primary schools across the borough, to encourage children to eat healthy as well as raise funds for the children’s charity.
For every case of products purchased by Solutions SK, a Stockport Council wholly owned company, the food supplier agreed to donate £1 to the charity, which provides funds for children’s hospitals and hospices throughout the UK.
The School Meals Team encouraged children to eat a nutritious pasta dish and raised funds of £569 for the charity, in just over a year.
Councillor Shan Alexander, Stockport Council’s Executive Member for Lifelong Learning and Achievement, said:
“Promoting healthy eating in schools is a key priority and combining this with raising money for a children’s charity makes this a very worthy scheme.”
