Following last year’s resounding success, the Headlander festival returns to Bramhall for its second year! 85 acts have signed up to provide 80 hours of live music…..tipped to be yet another sell out event. Taking place on 21st and 22nd June, Headlander draws together crowds from across the northwest to enjoy family-friendly festival fun without the mud, at what looks set to be one of the region’s leading family music and entertainment experiences.
Doors open 12 noon on Saturday 21st June with free car parking and Summer Breeze camping field on hand for families who want to make a break out of the weekend.
Staged to provide affordable entertainment for the whole family, the festival takes place in the 13 acre grounds of Stockport Rugby Club. From midday until 6pm on 21st and 22nd June, the Family Fun Days provide fantastic days out for all the family…and the perfect opportunity for festival lovers with children to still take part! Five marquees will be buzzing with events, stalls and workshops during the day for all ages….transformed to stages in the evening.
UK renowned artist Chris Cyprus has just been announced as Headlander’s artist in residence 2014 and will be capturing on canvas the fun and spirit of this year’s event, donating every single canvas he paints to raise money for Headlander’s dedicated charity, Millie’s Trust.

Headlander is supporting three charities – Millie’s Trust, OXJAM and War Child…and are delighted to announce Stockport’s largest commercial property landlord, Orbit Developments, as Headlander’s main sponsor.

Imagine FM are broadcasting the event live which includes a fun fair, magicians, face painters, balloon modelling, bouncy castles, giant slides, Bucking Broncho and free access to the on-site Wild Things Soft Play Area for the under 10s.
For older children the Urban Sports Arena has lots to keep them entertained including performances from Stephen Swain- the World Top 10 Pro Inline Skater and Tony Kelzo, the renowned Graffiti Artist as well as national artist Chris Cyprus who will be capturing the weekend on canvas. For budding stars….I Love Bramhall will also be hosting an open mic competition.
Make the most of the trade village with food from around the world; The Teenage Market on site as well as the Dyed Urban Sports Arena and street artists. Plus there will be a Starlight Academy Rock Zone, with great singing & dancing acts planned.
So all’s set for you to have a fantastic day out with the kids on both the Saturday and Sunday, and join in the evening music festival once the kids are in bed!
And for adults…whether your taste is Rock , Indie, Reggae , Ska, Blues, Jazz or Acoustic ….there’s something for everyone from existing bands and breaking acts!
National as well as local bands are spotlighted on both Saturday and Sunday night. The packed line up, headlined by Toploader, Stooshe and The Mend includes acts such as The Rainband, Feud, Purge and fresh on the scene…Kazo.
Headlander is committed to showcasing undiscovered talent…through the Open Mic Competition sponsored by I Love Bramhall taking place on the Sunday afternoon, judged by industry professionals with prizes to the value of £1000…and Battle of the Bands second year of competition.
