It’s that time of year again when we begin a new year with new dreams, hopes and goals. We have enjoyed Christmas and New Year parties. But there is one party that we all need to be aware of on the horizon. And that is the parting of Microsoft Office 2013.
In October 2020, Microsoft Office 2013 will go end-of-life. Like Windows 7, this means that Microsoft will not longer support or update the product. If you are running Microsoft Office 2013 (and older versions), and have your email hosted in Microsoft Office 365 then it will no longer connect to the 365 Service.
Stockport based Amshire Solutions explain more:

Since the release of Microsoft Office 2013 there has been Microsoft Office 2016, and most recently Microsoft Office 2019. Also, Microsoft has been building its Office 365 offering, something that Amshire is investing heavily in.
Microsoft Office 365 consists of many different services and solutions, which are all available on a subscription basis. It was originally designed as an email hosting platform, but over the 10 years since it conception it has grown and grown.
One of the subscriptions available through Microsoft Office 365 is Microsoft Office. This means for a small monthly fee, you can have access to the very latest Microsoft Office product, and the latest versions as and when they are released.
The Microsoft Office 365 subscriptions are user based, and if a user has a subscription which gives them the Microsoft Office package, then the license allows the product to be installed on up to five devices to be used by that user.
Also, if a user leaves, the License for Microsoft Office 365 can be turned off. This means that you are not paying for something or have paid for something which is not being used.
