Organised by Richard Lowe, Tech West Advocates, the delegation sought to forge stronger connections and create partnership opportunities and make investor connections within the tech community in Hong Kong.
The city, a Special Autonomous Region of China, is a popular launchpad for businesses looking to enter Asian markets owing to its close historical links to the UK, as well as being a hotspot for tech innovation in its own right. During their visit, UK delegates had the opportunity to network with tech innovators in Hong Kong and see first hand how the city’s dynamic tech ecosystem is open to collaboration the British businesses.
Among the delegates taking part in the trip was tech enabler, Naomi Timperley, who is also Innovation Director for the Merseyway Innovation Centre in Stockport town centre and the UK Lead for Global Tech Advocates. The city’s strategic location, coupled with its robust infrastructure and business-friendly environment, makes it an ideal launchpad for companies looking to expand in Asia and beyond. There is a huge amount of support available for UK businesses wanted to set up in Hong Kong.
