To celebrate Family History Month, Stockport Council run Local Heritage Library is holding a WWI History Day on Saturday 9th August.
The event, which runs from 10.30am to 3.45pm, will allow people to explore what life was like in Stockport during the Great War and to find out about their Military ancestors.
The event includes two talks in the Minor Hall at Stockport Central Library at 10.30am Not Forgotten by John Hartley and at 11.30am The Cheshire B’hoys: the Great War and Family History by David Kelsall.
There will also be a Family History Research Helpdesk between 13.00pm and 15.45pm with North Cheshire Family History Society on hand to point you in the right direction, plus WWI displays and objects to handle.
