GREAT FAMILY DAY OUT AT CHADKIRK FESTIVAL!
Come along to the 17th annual Chadkirk Festival and Well Dressing event.
Where: The festival is being held at Chadkirk Country Estate in Romiley
When: Sunday 28 July.
Time: 12 noon to 5pm
What: A day full of festivities including live music, falconry and martial arts displays, balloon
modelling, dancers, donkeys and spiders.
Includes the blessing of the beautifully decorated St Chad’s Well.
The ancient art of well dressing involves pressing flowers, leaves and seeds into clay to create
a picture.
Visitors can try their hand at willow weaving or join in a spider hunt. Watch colourful displays of traditional Morris dancing and martial art. See majestic birds of prey in flight. Experience the sounds of hand bell ringers with an amazing repertoire of well-known tunes and enjoy the traditional sounds of the silver band.
The Friends of Chadkirk will be selling an assortment of plants and flowers in the walled garden.
A selection of refreshments will also be available.
Admission is £2.00 for adults, £1.00 for children aged 5 to 15, children under 5 are free. Dogs are allowed at the event on a lead. Free onsite parking is available.
