Stockport-based recruitment agency, Grassroots Recruitment, is among the 12 latest businesses to become members of the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter.
Launched in 2019, the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter encourages and supports employers to develop good jobs, deliver opportunities for people to progress, and help employers in the city-region grow and succeed. Member status is conferred upon business shown to be meeting the Charter’s high standard across key areas, including recruitment practices, fair pay, employee engagement and secure and flexible employment.
Stockport-based Grassroots is a national resource partner for sales and technical recruitment that helps companies solve their most complex hiring challenges, enabling business growth through strategic resource planning and ethical recruitment practices. Director Caroline Patten said of becoming a Member of the Good Employment Charter:
“Championing good employment and ethical recruitment has been at the heart of our business since we started. Our people values underpin the type of company we want to be – as an employer, but also as the driver for our growth strategy, how we deliver recruitment services and the type of customers we want to work with.
“As a 6-person SME, we’re proud to advocate that fair and inclusive employment standards aren’t just for big firms. Having a happier team and doing everything we can to support each other is a good business decision and the right one. We’re delighted to become fully-fledged members of the GM Good Employment Charter and I hope we can inspire more small businesses to join too.”
Cheadle-based Ideal Point of Sale (IPOS) are also among the latest cohort of businesses to be accredited as members of the Greater Manchester Good Employment, and join a number of Stockport employers already part of the scheme, including musicMagpie, Stockport Council and One+All.
The latest 12 organisations to become members of the charter brings the total membership past the 100 company milestone. In a video announcing the latest members, Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham extended his gratitude to the newest Members of the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter. He also acknowledged their dedication to upholding good employment practices throughout the challenges of the past year.
