Local under 7’s football team Stockport Junior Blues are proud to be kitted out with a brand new strip, which they received after applying for a grant from the Equity Foundation’s Healthy Communities Fund. The grant also paid for the club to invest in some new training equipment.
The Equity Foundation was launched in January 2013.
As part of Equity Housing Group, a social housing provider, their roots are firmly in the communities that they have helped to build over the past fifty years. The Equity Foundation connects donors and supporters with local causes to help local people to feel proud to call their community “home”. Equity invest support and funding in community groups and charities that work to strengthen and improve neighbourhoods and communities across Trafford, South Manchester and Stockport.
Manager Robert Jones said:
“The funding from Equity was fantastic for us, we’re really happy with the new kits – the boys love them.“The team are really proud – which is important as we try to teach the team about the importance of healthy-living and community spirit”.
He added: “we currently play in the East Manchester Junior League – we’re in the top division and we only have 12 players, so we’re always looking for new players to come and join the team”.
