
South Manchester based law Firm Gorvins Solicitors have been bestowed a platinum award for services to youth education and employment at the Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council Young Stars Awards 2016.
This is the second consecutive time that Gorvins Solicitors have won platinum in the employers category, and their 6th Young Stars Award overall since the awards were first introduced in 2011.
The local awards, held annually at Stockport Town Hall, celebrates the achievement of young people in the borough as well as recognising local employers who are actively involved in providing education and training activities for schools and colleges across Stockport.
Partner and Corporate – Commercial Law specialist Christian Mancier, who also presented the “Overcoming Adversity (pre 16) Award” said: “It’s a real honour to receive this prestigious award for the second year running and is a real testament to the hard work put in by everyone at Gorvins in working with the next generation of employees, business owners and entrepreneurs in Stockport to give them real life experience of the world of work and help them make informed careers choices going forward.”
Gorvins’ recognition comes after a very active year partnering with local schools and colleges around the borough, providing work experience, internship and mentoring opportunities for students ranging from GCSE to University level as well as being actively involved as one of the co-founder of Gander which works to bring education and business together in Stockport.
In addition to this, Gorvins currently sit on the Cheadle & Marple Advisory Board for their ‘Career Ready’ programme and Senior Partner Mark Deverell has provided his services acting as governor to Stockport College.
