Staff from MDT-UK’s Headquarters in Hazel Grove continue to travel the world in support of their Heritage range of engines.
Customer Support Manager, Wayne Vincent, recently had the pleasure of visiting the Maldives, specifically to check on the status of MDT-UK’s 3 x Ruston 12RK215 engines which currently provide power for the Nasir International Airport located on Hulhule Island, pictured below.
Owing to increased tourism to the islands and an ever increasing demand, these three engines can no longer cope with the requirements and as a result, the company has tendered for two further engines which will sit alongside the existing Rustons.
In the meantime, the 12RK215s will continue to play a primary role in supplying power for the airport, with all three receiving a 30,000-hour overhaul commencing in September this year. This work will be carried out by MDT-UK’s engineers, all of whom have been expertly trained in Stockport.
MDT-UK will continue to support the Maldives Airport with consumables and general running spares throughout 2014 and 2015, with further overhauls scheduled for 2016.
