The winners of the Gander Young Business of the Year competition have been crowned, raising £800 for the Seashell Trust.
The winners have been announced of a business challenge for local students, run in partnership by Stockport based education/employment initiative Gander and the Seashell Trust charity.
Teams from three sixth form colleges in Stockport participated and were given seed capital to build a product or service and then experience some real life business challenges, while aiming to maximise their return.
Each team had the support of a local business mentor, who helped with planning, budgeting, writing a business report and making a presentation to a judging panel at a finale event.
There was a strong standard of enterprise, commitment and skills from all the teams.
The winning team of the Gander Young Business of the year – Solarium from Aquinas College, pictured with Marketing Stockport member Michelle Hay, who was their mentor – performed strongly in all areas of the project and were worthy winners.
The activity gave real benefit to the students involved and also raised over £800 for the fantastic work at the Seashell Trust.
