All abilities are catered for. Sports include rounders, football, cricket, basketball and athletics. Local community groups will be on hand to support people.
Councillor Sue Derbyshire, the Leader of Stockport Council, said:
“Throughout August there will be a series of ‘Safer in Stockport’ initiatives. These events will provide people with the information they need to protect themselves from criminal and anti-social behaviour during the holiday period whether they are staying at home or are going away.”
Sam Barton, Community Sports Officer from Life Leisure, said:
“Life Leisure is providing free sports activities for young people across Stockport, helping to keep children occupied over the summer holidays and make them less likely to get involved in or become a target of crime.”
