
Parking will be free in Stockport during certain periods in the run up to Christmas in support of local retailers and businesses, as well as shoppers.
Customers can now benefit from free parking in the Town Centre in Stockport Council owned pay and display car parks in the run up to Christmas.
Stockport Council’s free parking offer will take place on:
– Wednesdays between 16th November and 21st December after 3pm
– Every Sunday between 4th December and 29th January all day
– 26th/27th December and 2nd January all day
*Car parks where this offer applies: Merseyway, Heaton Lane, Newbridge Lane, Churchgate and Knightsbridge.
This offer will give shoppers the perfect opportunity to visit Stockport town centre, which has a variety of high street shops and small independents, as well as festive markets and events.
Free parking is also available in the Council owned pay and display car parks in district
centres on:
– Saturday 3rd December, all day
– Saturday 10th December, all day
– Saturday 17th December, all day
– Saturday 24th December, all day
*Participating district centres: Bramhall, Cheadle, Cheadle Hulme, and Edgeley (except Armoury Street), Hazel Grove, Heaton Moor, Marple, Marple Bridge, Reddish and Romiley.
Councillor Kate Butler, Stockport Council’s Executive Member for Economy and Regeneration, said: “Stockport is the perfect place to get your Christmas shopping done, with quality high street names as well as our local offers in the Market Place. We hope residents will take advantage of the free parking offer and shop local this Christmas.”
