Four people have been charged following raids in South Manchester; they are all due to appear at Manchester City Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 5 December 2012.
The people were arrested when officers from Greater Manchester Police raided 12 addresses in Wythenshawe, Withington and Stockport areas of Greater Manchester just after 8am on Monday 19 November 2012.
Officers from South Manchester’s Integrated Neighbourhood Policing Team launched the operation as their response to tackle organised crime and the production of cannabis in the area.
The following people will be appearing at court:
Stuart Vincent Walsh (born 17/08/1980) of Burnsall Walk, Wythenshawe has been charged with the production of cannabis. He has been recalled to prison.
James Smith (born 29/01/1993) of Old Moat Lane, Withington has been charged with the production of cannabis. He has been remanded in custody.
Glen Sparrow (born 27/07/1988) of Ashurst Road, Wythenshawe has been charged with the production of cannabis. He has been bailed.
Jacqueline Burgess (born 30/10/1975) of Lapwing Lane, Brinnington has been charged with the production of cannabis. She has been bailed.
Six other people aged between 18 and 56 were all arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to produce cannabis and money laundering and have all been bailed until 5 January 2013, pending further enquiries.
