Flybe is to resume providing regular flights from Manchester Airport to Cornwall Airport Newquay as the revived airline expands its offering for the Winter 2022/3 schedule.
Flybe, now headquartered in Birmingham, was relaunched earlier this year after falling into administration in early 2020 and being fully acquired by private equity group, Cyrus Capital.
The short-haul airline currently operates a daily connection from Manchester to Belfast, and from October is set to add to the destinations offered from the Northern hub with a daily flight to Newquay, Cornwall. The daily Flybe service will add to existing connections to the seaside resort already offered by Loganair and, seasonally, Easyjet.
Cornwall Airport Newquay has welcomed the addition, alongside a 12-times weekly connection to London Heathrow, that together could bring nearly 1,500 more passengers each week to the airport; Managing Director Sam O’Dwyer said:
“We’re delighted to be welcoming the new Flybe as our 10th airline partner at Newquay. With daily flights to both London Heathrow and Manchester starting this winter, these new routes will add much needed extra capacity as well as additional options for passengers on two of our major markets.”
Flybe Chief Executive Dave Pflieger added:
“We’re delighted to begin flights to and from Cornwall Airport Newquay, connecting one of the UK’s most popular year-round leisure destinations.”
From 2nd March, Flybe is also set to relaunch its connection to Southampton from Manchester Airport.
