Work is due to begin on the construction of a new flood alleviation scheme in Romiley commissioned by Stockport Council.
Investigations by the Council into flooding incidents at Dingle Hollow highlighted the need for the renewal of the existing masonry culverted watercourse. The work involves the reconstruction of the culvert from the outlet at number 5 Dingle Hollow along Compstall Road up to the junction with Cherry Tree Lane.
The culvert renewal works have been programmed to coincide with the school summer holiday and work is due to begin on Monday 29th July and last for a period of five weeks. Temporary traffic control measures will be in place during the work.
