
An account handler at C&C Insurance – who also volunteers as a Special Police Sergeant – has won a prestigious national police award, recognising his excellent work with Greater Manchester Police.
David Browne has worked as a Special for 14 years and the team were presented with the award yesterday for their exceptional work dealing with matters relating to victims and offenders of child sex exploitation at the ceremony held in London.
The Ferrers Special Constabulary Team Award is open to teams of Special Constables who have demonstrated a sustained and significant contribution to policing in their local communities.
Awarded annually they are open to a wide range of policing volunteers across ten individual and team categories. This year they introduced a new award recognising the contribution of Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner volunteers.
In his role as Commercial Account Handler at Romiley based C&C, David is also known for providing excellent service to his customers.
Paula Williams, Operations Director at C&C Insurance Brokers said,

David said:
“I have had many proud moments during my 14 years as a Special and to be recognised for the team’s achievements on this Operation I have to say is the pinnacle of my policing career to date. I am grateful to C&C who allow me to take time off work when required by GMP to assist in policing the community”
The award ceremony took place in London at Millbank, London on 16th October 2018.
