While most businesses will be using Microsoft Word as their word processing software of choice, Amshire IT’s Dave Taylor shares some of its lesser known features you might be missing out on.
What are your thoughts on Microsoft Word?
I guess you’d say it’s useful for creating simple word processing documents such as personalized documents, letters, and reports. But if you think that MS Word is just a basic word processing software… Think again, my friend!
There is actually so much more to your MS Word subscription than just creating a large volume of texts. For instance, you can use Word Online to work even while away from your desk.
Even if you don’t have MS Word on your device, you can access its online version through office.com. You just need to use your Microsoft account to sign in.
What’s great about Word Online is that it also gives you free storage space. It’s limited. But hey, who’s gonna say no to free storage? And since it’s online, you and your team can access your files anywhere. Just click Share and send your team a link to the document. This allows anyone with access to edit it.
That means if you and your team want to edit a Word document at the same time… You can do it and see the changes in real-time! Just make sure the Word file is saved to your Microsoft OneDrive account.
“What if my team makes mistakes in the editing?”
Well, Microsoft Word has the Track Changes feature. Use it to see the changes made. Then, you can reject or accept suggestions from your team.
These are only a few of the impressive features of Microsoft Word that you should take advantage of.
