The Ponemon Institute conducted a survey about this in 2019. According to their State of Cybersecurity in Small and Medium-Sized Businesses (SMBs) survey, cybercriminals are targeting SMBs more. In fact, the attacks increased to 69% in 2019 from 60% in 2017.

And if you happen to be a victim, the damage can cost you up to $1.2 million!
