Enterprise Car Club has a car parked, ready and waiting for you to rent in Stockport, even if you only need it for an hour or two, from just £5.20 per hour!
Enterprise Car Club has now launched in Stockport and offers five vehicles across town in locations near to the train station and town hall. Vehicles available include a Hyundai IONIQ, Hyundai i10, Ford Fiesta, Kia Niro and Renault Clio.
There are many occasions when having access to a vehicle – especially the right vehicle – can come in handy. A van for that trip to the garden centre or furniture store, a spacious hatchback for the big weekly shop, or some wheels for an airport run to collect a friend. Sometimes, even when we own our own vehicle, it’s just not the right size for the job at hand. In most cases, we put up with a vehicle that’s not made for the job, or no vehicle at all.
That’s where a Car Club can help – a new solution gaining popularity across the UK that’s making it easy and convenient to hire a vehicle for even an hour or two.
Stockport Enterprise car club offers on-demand vehicle hire. Members can access a vehicle parked on the street – for any length of time, from as little as an hour to longer periods of over a day – with the flexibility of collecting and returning it when it suits them. You sort out all of the practical information about your licence and so on when you become a member, and this means you can book and drive away any time you want.
Signing up and hiring a vehicle is easy. You download the app or visit the website and upload a selfie, a picture of your driving licence and add in payment details. Membership is then approved in a couple of hours or less.
Once registration is complete, you can book the vehicle via the mobile app or website, which shows you where the nearest vehicle is located. You can either book in advance or on the go. And you can use the mobile app to unlock the car or van so you don’t need the keys. The app also helps you to extend the duration of the rental or return the vehicle sooner if your needs change.
What’s especially useful is that Enterprise Car Club is open to drivers aged 19 and above. Research from Enterprise Car Club indicates that 38% of British licence holders under the age of 25 do not own their own car. A car club can be a very useful solution for this age group.
Something else really useful about Enterprise Car Club is that membership means you can access 1,100 vehicles located in 130 cities and communities across the UK, all available 24/7, 365 days a year. For example, if you take the train to York to visit a friend, you can pick up a car club vehicle to help you get around.
Enterprise researches each location carefully to make sure the right vehicles are sited in the most convenient place possible for local members. So, as well as being located in city centre locations, they are also located in popular residential areas and near train stations and transport hubs across the UK.
It costs £7 per month or £60 per year to join the club. Vehicle use costs from as little as £5.20 per hour and 21 pence per mile. This includes petrol and insurance. If you end up using the vehicle for more than eight hours then the rate switches automatically to the day rate which is from £41.95.
Payment is very easy. The charge is automatically taken from the registered card the morning after the reservation ends. Payments can be easily tracked on the ‘account’ section of the app.
Car clubs are part of a series of changes in local transport designed to make it easier for people to get around and to choose the best way to travel at each step of the journey. Find out more by downloading the app.
