A Cheadle Heath based business is targeting revenues of £1.3 million as it launches a new more energy efficient heating product for our homes.
Stockport-based Enviroheat HET are set to launch a new hot water cylinder design, the EconoCylinder, that reduced the electricity needed to heat water in the home by up to 40% compared to traditional boilers. The product uses the same technology pioneered in the firm’s EconoRad low energy radiator.
The Stockport company was established in 2011 by engineers, including former CERN engineer and the company’s technical director, Cédrick Grandbois.
Enviroheat is optimistic that its breakthrough products can help reduce energy demand for home heating and make a significant contribution towards achieving net zero CO2 emissions in Greater Manchester by 2038. The business is hopeful to secure the support of the recently established Energy Innovation Agency, which launched on 28th April in Manchester, where they pitched to bring forward the commercialisation of their designs.
Ahead of the pitch, Enviroheat director Luke Cronshaw said:
“Not many small businesses can say they have expertise like ours behind them.
“As well as our founding team of international engineers, we’re very lucky to have Cédrick Grandbois as our technical director and chief engineer. He’s a former leader of the R&D engineering team at the CERN Large Hadron Collider.
“Having that kind of connection here in Greater Manchester is great for the prospects of the business and we’re excited about what the future holds.
“We’ll be pitching some brand new innovations to the Energy Innovation Agency this month and welcome the chance to play our part in Greater Manchester’s journey to net zero.”
