Employment charity, Smart Works GM, is to host a free jobs fair in the borough to help connect local businesses with women keen to get back into work.
The charity, which provides unemployed women with the coaching and clothing to help them feel confident in returning to the workplace, will host the Women Into Work jobs fair at Stockport Central Library on 10th October from 10.30am to 2pm.
The fair will showcase local employers with live vacancies and training opportunities, who are keen to employ more women in their workforce. Employers already confirmed to be in attendance at the Women Into Work jobs fair include:
- Novanta – Recruiting for Laser Manufacturing Technicians

With employers at the event actively recruiting, Smart Works GM is also offering anyone who secures an interview at the jobs fair a full interview outfit (free to keep) and one-to-one coaching to support you to succeed. On successfully securing a job, the charity will see you again for a ‘Second Dressing’, to provide a capsule wardrobe of clothes ready for your new job.
