Employers asked to pledge vacancies for virtual job expo

Employers in Stockport and throughout the North-west are being asked to register to get involved in a virtual jobs expo for local jobseekers.

The North West Works 4 U event will be broadcast online live from the 6th to the 8th April, and has been organised by a unique partnership between the Department for Work and Pensions, Jobcentre Plus North West, North West Local Enterprise Partnerships and major private sector employers in the region including TalkTalk and McCann.

The employer-led virtual expo aims to showcase at least 5,000 lives job vacancies to an audience of 20,000 local jobseekers in the North West. Organisers are looking to secure pledges from 101 employers in the region to get involved in the event and advertise their vacancies during the event.

There is no cost to businesses for taking part, and the event will give recruitment teams access a talent pool of people who can add fresh talent and thinking to their organisation.

The event will be hosted by the Jobs LIVE channel, which provides daily broadcasts to job seekers and those looking to change career across the UK.
