
Stockport based company EMI celebrates 50 years in Stockport offering precision engineering and bespoke fabrication services.
Electro Mechanical Installations, better known as EMI, have acquired a 50 year heritage supplying to the oil, gas, chemical and pharmaceutical industries. They have supported, and continue to support, some of the biggest names within these industries including BP, Total, Exxon Mobil, Saudi Aramco, Maersk, Inovyn Chlor Vinyls, to name a few.
EMI’s greatest achievement so far is their status with BP as the “preferred supplier of specialised Thermowells” based on previous merit providing major projects such as Quad 204, Clair Ridge and Shah Deniz 2.
All this from a company born in Stockport in 1967. They are proud to be a SME where they value and understand their customers and invest in their locally sourced staff. The company has progressed many apprentices from Stockport college over the years, many of which are still employed with the company to this day as professional skilled engineers.
EMI specialises in the manufacture and supply of mechanical hardware for process flow and temperature instrumentation.
EMI is qualified to UKAS accredited ISO 9001:2008 proving that they have the capability to comply to customer requirements including stringent specifications, standards and documentation.
The company has a well-equipped engineering workshop with a wide range of machinery including CNC Turning and Milling centres, Manual Lathes and Millers, a Gun Drill and their latest addition, a semi-automated TipTig Welding machine. All manual and semi-automated welding is compliant to harmonised standards.
