easyJet, the UK’s and Manchester’s largest airline, has today announced it will operate 3 new routes next summer for business and leisure passengers travelling from Manchester Airport.
Pisa (Italy), Marseille (France) and Porto in Portugal are all available for flight bookings as easyJet now have 38 destinations on sale from Manchester which will be served by the addition of a ninth aircraft at the airport in June.
Across the new routes the airline is expected to fly 2000 passengers a week from the airport throughout next summer, operating twice a week to Marseille and Pisa and three times to Porto which becomes a new easyJet base with UK flights to and from three UK airports including Manchester.
The new crew base in Portugal’s second largest city will enable the airline to add a major connecting hub into the network and improve economic links between the UK and Portugal.
Ali Gayward, Commercial Manager at easyJet, said:
“We’re pleased to be continuing to deliver an unrivalled network of destinations with three completely new routes placed on sale today from Manchester. This underlines our commitment to both leisure and business passengers in the North West.
“Whether our customers want just a short hop to Marseille on the French Riviera or to soak up the charms offered by Pisa and Porto, we expect all our new routes to be especially popular.
“Our routes make it easy and affordable for business and leisure travellers to connect to a choice of summer destinations.”
Stephen Turner, Aviation Commercial Director of Manchester Airports Group (MAG) said:
“We’re delighted to be supporting easyJet in their continued growth at Manchester Airport, taking their total routes served from Manchester to 38. By adding new routes, easyjet continue to offer popular destinations and the addition of Porto and Marseille are two brand new routes for Manchester Airport which is fantastic news.
“The extra capacity will help to accommodate our continually increasing passenger numbers and offer our passengers a wider choice of destination for summer 2015.”
