Eastward International Logistics Ltd is preparing to celebrate its successful first year in business. Specialising primarily in road transport logistics for the oil and gas industries, Eastward is based in Pepper House, Hazel Grove, Stockport.
With the oil industry in the UK being focused almost entirely on the North East of Scotland, Stockport may seem a strange location to start such a business.
“Not really”, explained Eastward’s Managing Director Sean Byrne:
“Any new business will look to grow and diversify. The logistics of the oil industry are broadly transferable to logistics for many other manufacturing sectors and basing the company in Stockport gives us swift geographical access to the main manufacturing areas of the UK. The continuing success and expansion of Manchester Airport is an obvious example of why we chose the location”
