Marketing Research company DJS Research are one local company sponsoring junior cricket team the Whaley Warriors, an under-19s big hitting cricket team based in Whaley Bridge, made up of players from the surrounding villages.
The team will be competing in a Twenty20 format, and has been drawn against the Hadfield Heat and Glossop Lions in the first round.
The first game will be played on Sunday July 12th at 1.30pm and will be hosted at Whaley Bridge Cricket Club. Entry is free, and includes access to a licensed bar, food, commentary and on-field interviews, as well as live music.
Speaking about the event, Henry Holden, Captain of the Whaley Warriors team, said:
“We’re incredibly appreciative of the support we’ve had from businesses based in the local area and from further afield. This format of the game is a really exciting one, and one we hope will encourage other players in to the sport – it would be great to see a big crowd there on Sunday, so please do come along!”
The companies currently sponsoring the team include DJS Research Ltd, Tomson, Simbal Ltd, Rippleout Marketing, The Plain Language Commission and Legacy IT Consultants.
