Stockport based Damar Training, specialists in the provision of delivering legal apprenticeships, has significantly out-performed in several areas following its legal students’ latest examination results.
Damar, an approved centre for qualifications accredited by the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx), was the first to deliver the higher apprenticeship in legal services back in 2013. Since then their offer has grown to include specialist legal apprenticeship standards for:
- Legal administrators
- Paralegals
- Chartered Legal Executives
- Conveyancing Technicians
- Licensed Conveyancers
- Solicitors (in partnership with the University of Law)
29th March was results day for all those who sat exams in January 2019. Once again, Damar was ahead of national averages with significant out-performance in several areas. Some key highlights:
11 of 22 units in which Damar apprentices were entered had pass rates of 94% or more.
- 11 of 22 units in which Damar apprentices were entered had pass rates of 94% or more.
- Level 3 Contract Law saw all except 2 of the 21 candidates achieving distinctions (with one apprentice achieving 99%).
Jonathan Bourne, Damar’s managing director commented:
“We are really pleased by the success of our legal apprentices. These are challenging qualifications and, for many of our apprentices, they are becoming familiar with working in the legal environment for the first time. I would particularly like to thank our employers for ensuring that apprentices receive the time they need to learn off-the-job. This protected time, coupled with strong materials and support from the training team at Damar, are all vital to success at this level.
“Damar works with law firms and in-house legal team throughout the UK. Our legal apprenticeships are perfect both for new recruits and existing team members needing to up-skill. Most of the training costs are covered by the Government either through the Apprenticeship Levy or the 95% subsidy available for non-Levy-paying employers.”
