Employment charity Smart Works is once again encouraging business teams to get in the saddle and cycle 500 miles to raise funds for the organisation from 1st to 8th March 2023.
The charity, which works to support unemployed women across Greater Manchester gain the skills and confidence to get back into work, is encouraging organisations or groups of friends and family to enter teams into their cycling challenge to raise a target of £500. The challenge can be completed on any kind of bike – either outside or on a stationary exercise bike at home or in the office.
To launch the initiative, Paralympian cyclist Helen Scott will be stepping into the saddle as an ambassador for Cycle for Smart Works. The annual event is a major fundraiser in the charity’s calendar. This year, in celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8th, you can link up with Helen and all the Cycle for Smart Works teams across the UK as they cycle 500 ‘virtual’ miles ahead of the big day.
Ahead of the challenge in March, supporters can join Helen on 4th February for a ride and a chat on a short cycle from Stockport to Lyme Park to find out whether their legs are up for the challenge!
Sign ups for this year’s cycling challenge are now live on the Smart Works website. Sign-up costs £5 per person (£25 per team) and each Cycle for Smart Works team will benefit from:
- A Welcome Pack with fundraising advice and a guide to completing the challenge
