Stockport Council has been selected as one of the Top 100 employers for apprenticeships in England. The Council has gained the recognition from the National Apprenticeships Awards for displaying the highest standards of excellence in employing apprentices.
The award recognises the Council’s achievements of employing apprentices at Levels 2-5, in Business Administration, Management, Creative Design and Digital Media, Customer Service, and Supporting Teaching and Learning.
Councillor Sue Derbyshire, (pictured 2nd from left) the Leader of Stockport Council, said:
“The Council is very proud of its excellent record on apprenticeships. I’m really pleased that we have been included in the Top 100 employers for apprenticeships in England – it is good to be recognised for excelling in this field nationally.
“The Council’s 14-19 Services team has led the way in multi-agency partnership working between young people, employers, Jobcentreplus, National Careers Service and Training Providers, creating the Council’s Apprenticeships Store and employer grant schemes. We have also helped to introduce new employers in the borough to apprenticeships so that they are inspired to generate opportunities for would-be apprenticeships.”
