With new legislation meaning organisations must be pro-active in taking steps to reduce the risk of their staff experiencing sexual harassment at work, Stockport-based Cornerstone Resources has launched a range of training offers to support businesses in this area.
Since 2023, UK employers have had a duty to proactively prevent sexual harassment at work. This year, that duty gets stronger when from October 2026, the standard moves from “reasonable steps” to “all reasonable steps”, which is a meaningful shift towards being more proactive.
October also brings a new responsibility around third-party behaviour, meaning employers will need to consider harassment from customers, suppliers and contractors too.
Cornerstone Resources’ Sexual Harassment Prevention training offers a practical way for businesses to be well-prepared ahead of the changes.
The Hazel Grove-based consultancy offers 90-minute sessions for both managers and all-staff available live on Zoom, or tailored to your organisation’s needs, available in-person or online.
The sessions aimed at all staff helps employees understand what sexual harassment is, what’s expected of them, and how everyday behaviours shape workplace culture. It combines clear, accessible legal context with real-world scenarios and reflection – helping people recognise risk, respond appropriately, and contribute to a safer, more respectful workplace.
Training for Managers and Leaders, meanwhile, focuses on their responsibility to prevent, identify and respond to sexual harassment in a practical, confident and legally informed way. While it builds on core awareness, this session goes further – equipping leaders with the judgement, decision making confidence and practical approaches needed to handle real situations, manage risk, and actively shape a safe workplace culture.
For larger organisations with more complex requirements, bespoke training can also be arranged, with content, scenarios, and discussions are shaped around your organisation’s people, risks, and working environment, co-ordinated by Cornerstone Resources’ L&D Consultant, Joe Husbands.
