Following the granting of outline planning permission, Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council is advertising for a contractor to design and build a £30m multiplex / leisure development in the town centre. The project is advertised on The Chest procurement portal and can be accessed HERE
Applications to bid for the scheme have to be submitted by 4th September.
The Bridgefield development will see construction of a new multi-storey car park linking to the Debenhams and Merseyway car parks, creating around 350 spaces. A brand new multiplex cinema with up to eight ground floor units that will be let to food and beverage businesses, and the creation of a new public square and improvements to the public realm will link the new development to Merseyway and the wider town centre. The development is expected to take 15 months to build once a contractor is appointed.
As part of the consultation, the Council will be hosting three ½ day events for people to have their say on the plans on Wednesday 27th & Friday 29th August and on Tuesday 2nd September.
