There are only ten days left on the first phase of the Stockport Local Plan consultation where you can have your say on the shape Stockport’s future through to 2035.
Stockport is preparing a new Local Plan in order to set the rules for development and land uses that will have an impact on the way we live and work in the future.
Throughout the first phase of consultation the Council has been encouraging residents and local businesses to give their views on new homes, jobs, transport links, local facilities such as health and education and the borough’s green spaces and places.

Stockport council invite consultation on Local plan to 2035
Councillor Kate Butler, Stockport Council’s Cabinet Member for Economy and Regeneration, said:
“The people of Stockport have just over a week to go to let us know how they would like the future of Stockport to be shaped from now until 2035.
“Whilst this may be a challenging discussion, we are committed to have an open and transparent conversation with Stockport’s residents and businesses to find out what works, what doesn’t, what they need and what they’d like to protect.
“We still have two years to fully develop our Stockport local plan and this consultation is just the beginning of the conversation with residents. We welcome your views to enable us to deliver the best possible outcomes.”
The online consultation and more information about the Stockport Local Plan is available at www.stockport.gov.uk/localplan. It will run until 8th October 2017.
