Manchester Airport’s Runway Visitor Park is offering a new 90-minute Platinum tour of its iconic Concorde, launching on Mother’s Day and offering a personalised experience for small groups.
Expert guides will give tours the aircraft, inside and out, and visitors can see the Concorde’s flight deck come alive and witness the supersonic craft’s famous nose droop, which helped pilots guide the aircraft to the ground after trips across the Atlantic at supersonic speeds.
Guests can enjoy a complimentary glass of champagne, or orange juice, as they explore the aircraft and take a keepsake photo in the cockpit.
Robert Hassard, Manager of the Runway Visitor Park, said:
We are pleased to be launching this new visitor experience which will greatly improve the choice available to our guests. It offers the chance to explore our iconic Concorde in more depth than ever before, with small groups enabling our guides to take a personalised approach and focus on the parts of the tour that intrigue our guests the most.
“Concorde Platinum tours will become available from Mother’s Day and will make a great surprise for mums who love to travel, but will be running a couple of times a month thereafter as well. We expect them to prove very popular and we encourage those hoping to book for Mother’s Day to do so at the first opportunity, to avoid disappointment.”
The Concorde Platinum tours launch from Mother’s Day, with prices from £35 per person and also features an on-site restaurant, providing unparalleled views across the airfield as over 500 daily flights arrive and depart.
More information about how to book a tour can be found on the Runway Visitor Park website.
