The ‘Community Count’ events organised by Stockport Homes saw a range of activities including dancing, planting and growing, DJs, health advice, football training and climbing walls, while representatives of local groups who had applied for funding from Stockport Homes’ Community Fund found out how much their groups had been awarded.
Sam Barton, Community Sport Officer at Life Leisure, accepted £950 on behalf of the Bridgehall Street Dancing Group aimed at local 7-12 year olds.
Sam said:
“The activities we provide are free, so funding like this is really important to enable young people to take part who would not otherwise be able to. The funding will help pay for things we need such as new t-shirts for the girls to wear.”
