Chartered accountants Clarke Nicklin are the latest business to join NK Theatre Arts’ 1000 Club.
NK Theatre Arts is a registered charity based at The Forum Theatre in Romiley and one of the region’s leading all-inclusive theatre companies for children, young people and adults.
They provide workshops to people of all ages, abilities and disabilities and put on around 10 performances each year in Stockport, plus some further afield too like the hugely successful ‘Tommy’ at the Palace Theatre in Manchester.
NK Theatre Arts also offer their facilities for other local community groups to use including their 370-seat theatre, workshop rooms, bar and café.
Through their outreach programme they deliver social issue based presentations to young people in schools and youth centres.
NK Theatre Arts launched the 1000 Club membership a year ago to allow them to continue funding the services they provide, early members included Midshire Business Systems, Robinsons Brewery, Allied Bakeries and Life Leisure.
Andrew Baggott, Managing Partner at Clarke Nicklin, said: “We joined NK Theatre Arts ‘1000 club’ because they are a fantastic local cause which I felt was well worth supporting.
“Brian Bradley, one of our partners, also sits on the board so they benefit not only from the cash, which is essential for them to continue to run, but from our time and dedication too.
“The great thing about working with a charity like NK Theatre Arts is that there are benefits for us too; as members you get tickets to all of their performances, which we’re encouraging staff to use, and you get some great advertising opportunities too.
“I’d encourage anybody to get in touch with Darren and Jackie to discuss how you can get involved with NK Theatre Arts, it’s a great partnership which works both ways.”
The new partnership is in addition to Clarke Nicklin’s ongoing relationship with charity When You Wish Upon A Star that has seen the firm raise £1,150 in the past eight months to go towards granting the wishes of children living with life-threatening illness.
