The Citizens Advice service in Stockport, Oldham, Rochdale and Trafford is offering up to 400 households in communities it serves the opportunity to take part in a scheme to help cut their energy costs.
The project will see participants receive bespoke energy advice and a free Google Nest Pro 3rd generation thermostat fitted by Nest Pro installer.
The energy team at charity aims to provide energy advice to improve energy efficiency in the home and reduce energy costs over the next 12 months by working closely with successful applicants. Those participating could save up to 10% on their central heating costs and reduce their carbon footprints, based on independent studies of households using Nest Thermostats.
Steve Hughes, Chief Operating Officer of the charity said:
“We’re excited to announce our new energy advice google nest project that could save people up-to 10% on their energy consumption and put much needed money back in their pockets.
“Energy prices are continuing to soar we’re pleased to have received funding from Energy Redress Scheme to help people manage their consumption better
“Our energy team will be working with successful applicants, providing tailored advice and support from the moment they get their Google Nest Pro 3rd generation thermostat fitted by Nest Pro Installer, and over the course of 12 months
“We will be assessing the impact of smart thermostats on energy costs and energy habits and compile a report at the end of the year.”
The Citizens Advice scheme is open to people and families in need due to high energy costs in Stockport, Oldham, Rochdale and Trafford boroughs. Applicants will need to have a wireless internet connection available in their home, and either be homeowners or renting privately (with permission from their landlord to install the new thermostat).
Those who are interested will need to fill in an online registration form for the chance to take part. To find out further information and fill in the application form on the Citizens Advice Stockport, Oldham, Rochdale and Trafford website. The team will review applications as they come in, and get in touch in due course.
