Chinese New Year officially landed in Manchester this morning when one of the celebration’s dancing lions and cabin crew from Hainan Airlines, which launches a direct route from Manchester to Beijing in June, arrived at Manchester Airport.
To mark Hainan Airlines and Manchester Airport’s sponsorship of this year’s festival, a Chinese lion dance took place throughout the airport on its way to the city centre.
The city’s four day celebrations start later this week (4-7 February).
