The Swettenham Arms, a popular pub and wedding venue in Cheshire, has reopened after investment from Robinsons Brewery enabled a 2-month long refurbishment project.
The pub, which dates back to the 16th Century, was acquired by the Stockport-based family-run brewer in August 2021, with the refurbishment announced in June 2022. The renovation continues the brewery’s commitment to investing in its 250-strong tenanted and managed estate; recently complete refurbishments also include The Mulberry in Conwy, North Wales, and The Three Bears in Hazel Grove.
The new-look Swettenham Arms has benefited from a sensitive refurbishment, retaining and reviving original features including fireplaces and its copper top bar. The pub’s popular function room (known as the Lovell Suite) has also been redecorated and can hold up to 120 guests for functions, weddings and parties.
The pub also boasts a brand-new kitchen extension to the rear of the building and a newly remodeled breakfast area, creating the perfect space to relax surrounded by the Cheshire countryside.
Externally, the Swettenham Arms is now decorated with blooming new flowers, a new signage scheme and external furniture, perfect for the coming warmer months. With a large external seating area, it’s the perfect spot to relax and take in the picturesque views over some tempting food and drink.
