Cheadle taxi software firm Autocab has announced a partnership with Austrian software firm, expanding the company’s reach across Europe.
The Cheadle software firm’s new partnership will allow customers of taxi firms who use Autocab’s iGo app to book trips across 400 cities in Europe, including Gdansk, Malaga, Kiev and Lisbon.
Safa Alkateb (pictured), Autocab’s Chief Executive, said:
This partnership has created one of the largest fleets of private hire vehicles and taxis in Europe.
“It is giving travellers a huge amount of choice through an app familiar to them. When they arrive in another city or country, they don’t need to worry about researching local firms – they can simply source a trip using a trusted firm that is partnered with the iGo network.”
The iGO app launched in 2017, giving smaller taxi firms access to the technology that allows them to compete with companies such as Uber that are disrupting the sector. According to Autocab, their app is now used by 50% of the private hire market in the UK and allows firms to share fares with other companies when their fleet cannot fulfil a booking. The partnership will allow travellers to use the same app as they would in the UK to book taxis across Europe, giving access to Austrian FMS’s network across 11 countries.
Hermann Waldner, Chief Executive at FMS, said:
This initiative brings together high-quality mobility services to offer truly pan-European coverage to customers who want the benefit of using local taxis anywhere and at any time.”
