CHANCERYGATE RECRUITS AHEAD OF £100m DEVELOPMENT PUSH

Chancerygate, developer of Stockport’s S:Park business centre, is recruiting and launching a new office ahead of £100m development push.

As a result of its continued and expanding development programme, specialist industrial developer and investor, Chancerygate, has made four new development hires and is opening a new Manchester office at 9 Chapel Walks in the city centre.

For nearly 20 years, Chancerygate  has primarily focused its industrial development activity on London and the South East where it has successfully developed more than 6m sq ft of industrial space. In the past year it has embarked on a £50m site buying programme and is now looking to extend its activities more widely across the UK. Its expansion plans are intended to take the company’s development programme value to above £100m in the next year.

Chancerygate was the first developer to build speculatively in London during the financial crisis with its successful 80,600 sq ft scheme at 4-40 Link, Southall followed by its 48,500 sq ft phase 1 development of S:Park in Stockport. 

Currently Chancerygate is on site speculatively building another 48,500 sq ft final phase of its highly successful S:Park development in Stockport along with 51,500 sq ft on the Great Western Industrial Park Southall.  Further sites have also been acquired in Enfield and Hayes where Chancerygate is committed to commence more speculative development on a further 160,000 sq ft for the freehold and leasehold markets.

Commenting on the initiative, Chancerygate’s Managing Director, Eddie Cook, said:

“Given its strategic location and proximity to our S:Park project, Manchester being recognised as the second city in the UK is the logical place for us to open our new base. We see there being considerable potential for new projects across the north of England and other strong regional locations”.

With a further 300,000 sq ft UK development programme already underway and more projects in the pipeline, Chancerygate has strengthened its team with the appointment of three new development surveyors and a project manager.

Adam Courtenay and Jonathan Lee – both formerly with Kier Property –  join Chancerygate as development surveyors together with Amit Babbar who was previously with Colliers International.

Project Manager, Ian Anderson is joining the team from Barwood Developments and will be the first appointment to the newly established Manchester office.
