
Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rachel Reeves, has confirmed the date of this year’s Autumn Budget: Wednesday 26th November 2025.
Alongside the announcement of the Budget date, Chancellor also published a short video, setting out the current state of the economy, and her and the government’s ambitions going forward.
In her video the Chancellor highlighted the government’s accomplishments from its first year in office. These included raising minimum wage, changing planning rules to accelerate housebuilding, and investment in infrastructure. Other achievements stated by the Chancellor include reducing NHS waiting lists, and securing new trade deals with the US, India and the EU, as well as continued cuts to interest rates, with the Bank of England having announced five rate cuts during Rachel Reeves’ tenure as Chancellor.
Reeves also began setting out the governments ambitions for the economy. She highlighted the current challenge of rising inflation and high interest rates that are hurting day-to-day household spending, and set out a focus on using investment and reform to drive economic growth.
