The prize is open to semi-professional or professional artists in Stockport or across the other 9 boroughs that make up Greater Manchester.
The overall winner and the three runners-up will be announced at the Chambers annual dinner which takes place on May 19th at Victoria Warehouse in Manchester.
The winner will receive a cash prize of £1,500 with the runners up receiving £750. Winners will also receive a £150 voucher from Fred Aldous and G.F. Smith paper suppliers and an award made by a local artist.
Brian Bradley, Stockport President of the Greater Manchester Chamber said: “This is a unique chance for artists in Stockport to gain recognition for their work and I hope we will see lots of entries from across the borough.
“The arts prize and commission opportunity to produce the prizes are now open for entries.
“Artists can submit work via the website at www.gmartsprize.co.uk.
