Chamber organises first festive carol service

GREATER Manchester Chamber of Commerce is holding its first ever carol service at Manchester Cathedral next week.

The carol service for the business community was the brainchild of chief executive Clive Memmott, with the aim of bringing businesses together to celebrate the season of goodwill.   

He said: “Many businesses are still finding trading conditions tough, and although we are no longer technically in recession, staying afloat means working incredibly hard.

“The festive season is, for many, a time when people take a well-earned rest and spend time with those important to them. The Chamber’s carol service will provide businesses with the opportunity to take a break with their colleagues, come together under one roof, and enjoy the start of the festive season.”

Reverend Rhiannon Jones will be taking the service at the Cathedral and the congregation will be joined by musicians from the city’s famous Chetham’s School of Music.

The Carol Service takes place on Monday 3rd December from 11.30am-12.30pm at Manchester Cathedral. The event is free to attend and open to all businesses in Greater Manchester.
