Stockport leisure centre provider, Life Leisure, is inviting local people to enjoy a fun timetable of activities to mark National Fitness Day on 18th September.
Taking place from 11.00am – 2.00pm at Stopford House Piazza, the event will include activities led by Life Leisure as well as a kids scavenger hunt, free fitness assessments, accessible equipment to enjoy, exclusive joining offers and more.
National Fitness Day is a chance to celebrate and shout about the positive impact of physical activity and all it can do for us.
This year’s theme for National Fitness Day is ‘your health is for life’, which is a powerful message that can resonate with us all. It’s not just about exercising for short term goals, but about the longevity in taking small steps towards a lifestyle which can both protect and improve your health for years to come.
Alongside the event at Stopford House, there will also be a chance to take part in a Triathlon challenge at your local Life Leisure hub, helping teams to run, swim or cycle as many miles as possible in one day.
Cllr Frankie Singleton, Stockport Council Cabinet Member for Communities, Culture & Sport, said:
“The event is a chance to embrace the positive impact exercise has on us all. It’s not just about exercising for short term goals, but about taking small steps towards a lifestyle which can both protect and improve your health for years to come. Aligning with our One Stockport One Future ambition of making sure Stockport is the best place to live a happy and healthy life.”
Daniel Barker, Head of Health and Fitness, Life Leisure, added:
“As we look forward to celebrating National Fitness Day, we’re proud to emphasise the message that ‘your health is for life’—a message that truly resonates with everything we do at Life Leisure. Whether you’re just starting your fitness journey or continuing to build on it, we’re here to support and encourage you every step of the way. We are offering a special deal on membership on the day too, so don’t miss out.”
