Stockport Council run Hat Works and Staircase House are taking part in the national Museums at Night campaign by hosting two special evening events.
Staircase House is hosting a supper tour flavoured with history on Friday 17th May, from 7.30pm. People will be able to journey through the house and discover what people ate and drank in the past.
There will be opportunities to sample
some unusual dishes from a variety
of historical recipes. The event is
suitable from age 12 to adult and
costs £5.95 or £4.95 for Leisure Key
holders.

Hat Works is hosting ‘Rhymes & Reasons’ on Saturday 18th May, from 7.30pm to 8.30pm. The event is a quiz night with a difference accompanied by a wonderful spread of wine, cheese, charcuteries and bread from Stockport Market.
Most nursery rhymes originated during times of political unrest, steeped in history and often have a much darker meaning.
This event is suitable for adults and is priced at £15 per person.
Councillor Iain Roberts, Stockport Council’s Executive Member for Economic Development and Regeneration, said:
“The Council is delighted to be supporting Museums at Night by offering these two fantastic events for people to enjoy. I would encourage people to book their places for these two events which will offer a different perspective on two wonderful tourist attractions.”
Booking for both events is essential. To secure tickets for these events contact Stockport Tourist Information Centre on 0161 474 4444 or for more information visit www.stockport.gov.uk/museums
